France is Known for Its Strict Gun Control, So Where Did the Automatic Weapons Come From?

Years ago, back when the Clinton assault weapons ban was coming to fruition, a co-worker said to me “Let them ban them all. After that we will be able to buy fully automatic weapons.” I said what are you talking about? He said that the illegal gun trade would be bigger than drugs. We could buy whatever we wanted and there would be no government forms or databases.

I thought at that time that he may be right. Since then, I haven’t thought about it much until I saw these videos below. France has been burning and rioting since the police shot a migrant and killed him, sound familiar?

In the videos you will see rioting youths firing fully automatic weapons. It is important to note that France has extremely strict gun control. The ownership of military grade guns is completely banned. To own a weapon with a removable magazine with a capacity larger than three rounds, French nationals must undergo annual mental, physical, and health checks. Hunting weapons must be registered, and their owners must take exams.
