​The Only True Answer to Our Problems

When you look at all the moral depravity, degeneracy, corruption, materialism, and virtuous bankruptcy of our nation, one asks what is the solution? How do we get back to that good and righteous nation that we once were? America was a nation built on Judeo/ Christian values and ethics, which have all been subverted. We live now in an age where everything that was good is called evil, and everything that was evil is now called good.

This is nothing new. Cultures and nations rise and fall. America, like the Roman Empire, has rotted from within. This same scenario has played out in many cultures for millennia and it is chronicled in the bible where the Jewish state would fall away from God and be punished many times.

This is an example from the prophet Hosea. Hosea lived in the eighth century B.C. He witnessed to the northern ten tribes of Israel. When he was preaching, it was at a time of great material wealth but complete spiritual bankruptcy. Very much mirroring what America is today. He was announcing the coming judgement, that would be handed out by the Assyrians, on the Northern Tribes of Israel. This judgement took place in 722 B.C.

He was telling the people to get serious about their souls and God. These are his words:

“Come, let us return to the Lord;
for he has torn us, that he may heal us;
he has stricken us, and he will bind us up.

The Lord had wounded them, but he will heal them.

Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord;
his going forth is sure as the dawn;
he will come to us as the showers,
as the spring rains that water the earth.”

He is telling them that they must press on and know the Lord that he will be faithful to them, that he is sure and true.

The Lord responds with this statement.

For I desire faithfulness rather than sacrifice, And the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Hosea is saying to give up these fruitless, materialist, and worldly pursuits. God is saying that he wants us to know him, to pursue him, this is Gods delight. That we have a relationship with him.

I started this article with this quote from Martin Luther King:

If we want that quote to be true and have justice prevail sooner rather than later, we must repent as a nation and seek God for His kingdom is at hand. He will then heal us and stamp out this evil that is infecting our nation. This is the only real solution to our woes.

There is no politician or legislation that will save us.

Only God almighty can deliver us now.
