The Wise and Aware Man

A bit of inspiration for the times we find ourselves in...

The Wise and Aware Man

The wise and aware man is keen to discover where divine providence has placed him in history, and realizing that, doesn’t dismiss it, but embraces it. He doesn’t cling to the foolish belief that “this is my time,” and that he is entitled to live the charmed life of those that may have preceded him, or of the fools around him that chase it unaware of the lions that are surrounding them; they play with their toys and chase amusements that sparkle and chime, drowning out the sound and fury of the approaching hoard.

The wise and aware man is keen to understand where divine providence has placed him in history. And if he has been dropped into the midst of a battle, like a paratrooper at Normandy, then he has no time for foolish extravagance and selfish pursuits; no time to waste and no time to grow up; he must join the battle straight away.

The wise and aware man is keen to prepare for where divine providence calls him to be in history. Having discovered and understood, though he may dream of the life he’d soon rather have, he accepts his place and moves to ready himself and those he loves for the times. He knows there is nothing owed him: no guarantees, no assurances, nothing to which he is entitled, especially in regard to the freedom and liberty of men and nations.

The wise and aware man is keen to seek the face of God, ask of His divine wisdom, beg of His Son forgiveness and redemption, implore of His Holy Spirit hope and perseverance, and humbly and gratefully accepts the divine will for his life.

The wise and aware man rises to the battle of his time, imploring divine providence for eyes to see, ears to hear, heart to help, mind to think, strength to act, and faith to hope.
